From the moment I put my fingers to the keys I have loved the grundleputs and their story. I had only keyed in a few lines when I realized we were right in the middle of a deep forest and it was there I caught my first glimpse of Prince Mikal. As I drew in closer I could see he was a very small creature with a cape and a crown and when I saw his face I knew he was adorable. I also realized there was trouble afoot because he was pacing back and forth in the twilight as if something important was about to happen.
At that moment I could not imagine what was going on but knew the little prince would not face it alone. For the next few hours I could not key fast enough as the story of the grundleputs began to unfold.
Every time I sat down to write I felt Mikal and his friends were right there with me hurrying me on. We all wanted to solve the mystery that was overtaking the forest, but it was going to be a battle – and in the end it would all be up to Prince Mikal.
Everyone in my family wanted to solve the mystery too. Every time I wrote a chapter they couldn’t wait for the next one.
For several years we have kept the grundleputs to ourselves and our family and close friends. Now we are happy to share them with you in Prince Mikal’s Quest. We hope they will lift your spirits and inspire you with same joy that they have given us.
