The grundleputs are a race of creatures unique to the Great Forest. No humans have yet seen the grundleputs in person so I will try to describe them here. They are small creatures, about 3 feet tall, with distinctive round heads, large friendly eyes and ears that can perk up at the slightest sound. Below their slender necks their round bodies are covered in a smooth fawn-coloured fur and their slender arms and legs allow to move quickly through the forest.

The grundleputs have human-like characteristics that set them apart from other creatures in the forest. They are gentle, kind, and industrious creatures but they have a grave responsibility in the forest. King Grundlegrass has appointed them to guard the precious Chest of Life that protects every life within the Great Forest. They are much beloved by all the forest creatures who trust the grundleputs with their lives.

Hi there! Welcome to the Great Forest. My name is Mikal and I am the chief prince of the grundleputs. King Grundlegrass recently came to West Wood and placed this crown on my head. You can also see the emerald key I wear on a chain around my neck. The king told me that one day I would understand more about the key but for now the other grundleputs and I will continue to guard the Chest of Life.

Greetings! My name is Wendel and I am the second prince of the grundleputs. Prince Mikal and I have always been best friends. Lately I have been away at the king’s court learning to be a scout for King Grundlegrass. That’s why I wear this blue chevron around my neck. As a scout, I know more about the forest than my other grundleput friends, even Mikal. I am happy to be back in West Wood with Mikal, as his second prince.
